Flabbergasted

Wednesday, January 30, 2008

I think this week there may be no mixtape. It seems like we're all busy getting a life that somehow in someway we've forgotten all about it. Or maybe not?

On a lighter note, i think im lighter. Lost weight i mean, weighed myself a few days ago and was a kilo lighter. But then again, it may just be because i just shat moments earlier? Who gives a shit anyway!

Believe it or not, yesterday i played bowling for the FIRST time in my life, second if throwing just three times back in form 3 counts as a game of bowling. Yea first time and it was fun. I got a spare with my right hand ( im left-handed mind you)

K done im tired. Wake me up next month thank you.

I thought i've gotten over it a long time ago, but it just keeps on repeating itself over and over again, just like how the seasons change. Exactly.

Sigh, and whenever it comes back, it gets harder and harder to let go.

I hear this year is the last. I don't know what to say to that.

It was a pretty interesting day, having Kim Seng and Lai Jeng over for the evening, dinner and midnight movie later on.
The movie's not too bad, even though it clocked in at 2 hours and 30 mins, the ending's all worth it. Plus! it is based on a true story.

The downside, the censorship cut almost all ( almost, but not all) swearing word uttered by the characters. By censoring i mean by cutting them right out of the movie, instead of muting it like some normal american movies and what not. In Malaysia, we just chop that bit off.

I guess they were too keen on bleeping all the "fucks" and "shits" that they let a few scene of bare-breasted women slip right through their noses.

hrmmm. Boobies on the big screen. how much better can it get?

Was at my brother's pretty much the whole day to do some maintenance on the car. Been having some problems since i got back from kuching last week. All thanks to 3 weeks of no driving i suppose.

In the middle of the day, my brother's neighbour's kid ( Nisha) came out and called , " Chelsea, do you want to come to my house and play?"

My niece then looked at me asked me for permission to go over and i said no. She tentatively answered " Nisha, my uncle said can!"

Any normal person would think that that's normal(being a kid and all), and she would just walk over to the house. But not this kid i kid you not.. She just started to climb the fence separating the two houses.Looking at her I thought she'd climb over it rite? Nop. Wrong. Equipped with with her innocent-looking-there's-nothing-wrong-withthis look on her face, she climbed t, and just slid through the gaps between the grills like some sort of acrobat.

That was pretty absurd.

I was walking back towards my car at around 9pm just now when i realised something. The sky's unnaturally clear today. For once in a very long time, i could see stars up in the sky shining. Not many, just a handful but please be reminded, this is KL we're talking about. Land of overpolluted air which plagues our lungs day in and day out. It's weird. Reminds me of those days i used to look at the stars back in Kuching. One time, some friends and i laid at the beach and counted around 8 shooting stars!

Work today was fine. Spent the whole day in the Aircraft's fuel tank. Imagine being in a 3"x4" workspace for two hours at a time! Not very merry i say. Tore one of my pockets while trying to maneuver myself around the many sections of the fuel thanks and had to wear respirator most of the time, thanks to the fuel fumes. Oh did i mention it is stuffy and hot inside? i guess not. But other than that it's all good. I like.

Tomorrow's saturday and im off. Time for a good night's sleep!

Wanted to blog about interesting things at work. Then i decided not to.

But just wanted to tell you guys about my In-charge who has some sort of vendetta with one particular trainee ( not me) and making it hard to know whether he's actually joking or really pissed at us.

Hrmm.... i just smile, laugh and walk away. usually. Worked fine so far!

And this time last year, i was so close of quitting this programme due to the fact that i was unable to cope with the crappy culture here in MAS. Then i went back for chinese new year, worked lightly, made new friends, went with the flow of it all and here i am! Feeling quite glad i didn't.

The last time i weighed myself ( which was probably a month ago ) i was hovering between 63 and 65 kilogrammes. Now that's one other thing i love about Kuching. *another one to put on my great list of why i love Kuching*

3 weeks of holidays, which at first was primarily meant for me to rot out of boredom, to get sick of kch and never have the feeling of homesickness overwhelming me but in the end, it turned out to be the best holiday ever. The best. I am still in awe of all the things that happened. All i ever wish for now is to actually have a few days more of holidays, just enough for me to slow down and get slightly bored.

Oh damn i was stuck at the second paragraph for like 10 mins. It is times like these i wished i was still in school, doing essays, or better still, have an infinite love for reading. My writing skills have gone down the drain since so long ago ( i think i've mentioned more than a few times) that it takes me longer time for me to write remotely longer than just 3 paragraphs.

*sorry for the interruption we may now return to our regular programming*

I did a lot in Kuching. What did i do you may ask? Alright ill start from the beginning. Eat, went for a local rock gig, climbed mt. santubong, eat, christmas midnight mass, christmas at my house, christmas dinner and Gloria's house, eat, eat, pictionary ( which we won) , pictionary at naichen's, climbed mt. santubong ( again ), clubbing on new year's eve, almost got myself into a private party ( still am not contented with that), eat, brought my friend from klang around kuching, mainly just eat and eat and eat, eat some more. Owh yea, i did play futsal and badminton somewhere in between but it wasn't as memorable. And also, i ate a lot, hence my first paragraph.

It feels so weird being back here even if its only been 3 weeks but i feel so alien back home in kl. All of my routine has gone out the window and now i have to restart everything. In fact, i even forgot what time i used to wake up for work! But no worries, i've made it through before, and ill make it through this time.

2008 so far IMO, doing just fine. Just maybe is moving too fast. It seems like as we grow older, time passes so much faster and before you know it, you're dead. HAHA. Well its true, if you really think about it. I've been in kl for two years already, 3 more years to go b4 i graduate.3 years you might ask? Pbfft. 3 years only la!

I really wish i could write more. Perhaps some better day. Good news is i took tons and tons of picture while i was back and rest assured, ill upload them onto facebook when i find the time. So before i go here's a video taken in kuching in Gloria's house. Enjoy!

Chapter XVII - I'm Gonna Stay 17 Forever

Tuesday, January 01, 2008

What's the best way to start off the new year? With a mixtape of course! And this time, its not any ordinary mixtape. This week's theme, songs that reminds us of friends, family and of course not forgetting... Home.

All of these song, in one way or the other, has left a deep impression on our hearts throughout the years. It may be just because of its lyrics, or perhaps the thing you were doing when the song was playing a long time ago, but either way, they all have a special place in our hearts.

And new year i just think would be the best time to put this out. New year, when you start everything anew. Out with the old, in with the new. That sort of shit. Let us all have a moment of jiwang...

Now we can move on to bigger things in life.

Chapter XVII - I'm Gonna Stay 17 Forever

Kurt Nilsen - My Street
Over It - We Are Ordinary
Yellowcard - How I Go
Green Day - Time Of Your Life
Sensefield - Save yourself
Hawk Nelson - 36
Augustana - Boston
Verve Pipe - Freshman
Embrace - A Glorious Day
Semisonic - Closing Time
Brand New - Soco Amaretto Lime
Nine Days - If I Am
Something Corporate - Ruthless
A Small Victory - Farewell Capeside

Hope you guys enjoy it as much as we did. Download it HERE or HERE

Sorry for the delay, it was post new year stress.
